The unique, peaceful atmosphere of the Kollel Chatzos cannot be found anywhere else in this world. This realization brings joy to all the avreichim who learn there, because they realize that they are experiencing a rare and uncommon opportunity.
Harav Deutsch is planning to build a beis medresh for Torah tefillah, and avodas Hashem for the Kollel Chatzos. I pray to Hashem that Harav Deutsch's ambitions comes to fruition, because that will surely increase Hashem's honor in the world.

Yad Ezra V' Shulamit's assistance has affected over 30 cities in Israel.
We prepare 2500 baskets weekly, 1000 are distrbuted in Jerusalem and the remainder is delivered to needy families in other locations. Yad Ezra V' Shulamit also provides employment opportunities and vocational training for basket program recipients. Our job placement agency is run by an experienced social worker who matches up potential employers with unemployed individuals. She counsels and gives the necessary support needed to encourage the needy to join the workforce. Yad Ezra V' Sulamit also offers auxiliary social services such as school supplies, tutors and extra-curricular learning programs for children; medical supplies, medical support, psychological assistance and referral services for all recipients; and job training and placement for the unemployed. For recipients with extenuating circumstances, Yad Ezra V' Shulamit also extends direct monetary aid. Another Yad Ezra V' Shulamit activity is providing local families willing to cook hot lunches and provide healthy snacks for hungry children in their private homes, with the necessary and equipment to do so. In an effort to break the cycle of poverty, we run an after school program which provides a hot meal and three hours of activities. The staff at our Children's Centers provide homework help, private tutoring, music therapy and the love, warmth and attention these underprivileged children are so lacking. The center aims to provide 50 grade-school youth not eligible for other subsidized hot-meal programs with a sit-down hot meal, take home dinner and breakfast for the following morning, private tutoring, medical and psychological services, extra-curricular learning programs, school supplies, clothing, and other necessary supplies and services. Yad Ezra V’ Shulamit’s long term goal is to go beyond feeding the poor. We want to help the children of the poor and disadvantaged to grow up with self-confidence so that they will be able to mature into properly functioning adults. Yad Ezra V' Shulamit also works to raise consciousness about local and national poverty and hunger issues. We encourage community organizing and advocacy, active dialogue with various governmental and non-profit agencies, and media coverage of food security issues and events.
